Federico Romero is Dean of Research and Professor of History of Post-War European Cooperation and Integration at the Department of History and Civilization, European University Institute. He is the co-founder of the The Alcide De Gasperi Centre on the History of European Integration. One of the key missions of the Centre is to “disseminate historical narratives and increase public interest in the history of European integration”. A specialist on 20th Century international and transnational history, he worked on various aspects of Cold War history and he is now completing the ERC Advanced Project “Looking West: the European Socialist regimes facing pan-European cooperation and the European Community (PANEUR1970S)”.
